A beautiful Brunch in Dublin

If you wake up with a big appetite like me and you just feel like heading out, getting some fresh air and having brunch served in a few minutes, here is a good place to go 🙂

If you appreciate food as much as I do and want to enjoy a luxury brunch in a Rooftop in a relaxed atmosphere, Sophie’s is a good option.

Sophie’s is a beautiful and modern glasshouse restaurant, boasting a stunning 360-degree view of Dublin from on top of The Dean.

About the food… The menu ranges from meat and fish to vegetables, fruits, herbs and dairy.

They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily with a delicious brunch menu on the weekends. And that is where I choose to go to! Why? Because it has the most varied menu 🙂 I love coming at any time, on a Sunday noon and just choose either a sweet or savoury meal, without rules!

Since I quit sugar in January 2018, there are fewer options for me (I used to eat the pancakes with berries – so so so delicious if you also have a sweet tooth) so now after trying ALL meals in the brunch menu (Yes, all of them :D) I can say I have my favourite one, which is the poached eggs, on toasts with spinach and smoked salmon with fresh tomatoes and potatoes.

Why? Well, everyone has a different taste but I personally find it very nutritional, full of good fat like salmon, a mix of carbs like potatoes, bread, spinach and bread plus the highest protein food, actually called the gold protein, which is… eggs! Plus, this meal presents my favourite way of eating eggs – poached eggs, to be honest, these eggs’ texture makes me not think about eating sugar at that moment!

The other favourite meal that I usually order and is my boyfriend’s favourite meal, you can see here on the picture, is steak with poached eggs, spinach, fried chips and spinach. Here, the ingredients are simpler and you can see them at a glance. That is why I always think this is more a male plate because, usually, guys eat with their eyes.

However, my favourite meal looks smaller but everything is structured on toasts so actually it is bigger and I would even say more nutritional, bearing in mind it is more varied in all macronutrients, but both meals are perfectly fine if you want to have a good Sunday brunch experience.

The plates are huge so you will leave satisfied at least visually ;p and you will feel like coming back again.

There are tables with very sophisticated and comfortable sofas and tall chairs. Usually, you book the sofas and the tall tables are just for walk ins – they don’t require to be booked. If you really want to feel comfortable enjoying good company with friends in a cosy atmosphere, go for the sofas.

I am really spontaneous sometimes about where to go for brunch and I like to decide at the moment, that is why for me the tall tables are the best option, I just pop in and I have a place, a more informal place but you do not need to wait and usually it is free if you go after 1 pm on a Sunday.

I love trying different places for brunches but I try to come to Sophie’s once every two months because it is simply a brilliant and friendly experience, worth repeating with friends or your partner, I have rarely seen someone alone, maybe… that person can be you next time? Just give it a try and leave below your opinion in the comments – This might help someone else 😉
