THE HAPPY COUPLE

Sylvia Diaz from Spain, and Boyan from Bulgaria.

THE RECEPTION

After we got married, we had dinner and drinks in the lovely Bridge House Hotel in Tullamore. It was recommended to us as the perfect place nearby that offered stunning backgrounds for pictures and a large outdoor terrace for dining.

THE GUEST LIST

We only had five guests plus us, in total seven. We would have loved to celebrate our special day with our families from Spain and Bulgaria but the current situation with Covid made it impossible. We were only allowed to have six guests in the ceremony and in the hotel’s restaurant.

THE DRESS

After wearing more than 100 traditional wedding dresses during my career as a professional model (17-23 years old), maybe I had enough!

Or maybe I’m a bit of a rebel when it’s about following what society is telling us what to do or wear… I always wanted to wear a red wedding dress, something different, something I have never worn that fits with my personality. Red is fire, passion, and also one of the national colours of Spain! For me, the color and style represent my values and where I’m coming from.

I thought of buying a wedding dress in a local shop, but as I said I was dying for a red dress and those are hard to come by! Then I thought of getting in touch with some of the designers I’ve worked with and whose beautiful wedding dresses I’ve modelled before, so they could make a personalized one for me but this was a bit risky. Most of the designers I know are in Spain and the chances of getting a wedding dress right without being there in person is usually very low. So I started looking online, just googling for “original red wedding dresses” and that’s when I started getting SUPER excited! It took me a good few days to find my dream dress… I ordered only one size and it fit my body perfectly! It was maybe slightly bigger around the waist (it almost always is) but totally perfect for the chest and hips and once I tried it, I said to myself, “This is it! This is me!” I felt relaxed that I had the main part done and I started taking everything from there. The dress is from the fabulous online shop SHEIN, the quality is insane and is super affordable for any future bride-to-be or just for regular clothes.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

The wedding by itself was such good fun! My best friend and ex-client, who is gay, was wearing heels for the first time and it was something he had wanted to do for very long, and he finally gave it a try. We had such good fun modelling/walking on the day like two divas haha and he even wanted to wear a dress publicly for the first time but in the end, decided to take it easy and just wear heels. I am happy he expressed himself the way he wanted because it made for an even more exciting wedding!

HOW WE MET
